How do I stay fit for life?
This question has been on my mind for several years, and that is what I help you with. I show you an exercise routine developed by world champions and built on the basic movements of everyday life: pressing, pulling, squatting, and bending.
This routine gave me what I had been looking for for years: a clear plan that carries me every day. That is exactly what I want to pass on to you.
You do not need any prior experience. I teach you everything step by step. We train like athletes: every small gain builds on the last one. The goal is ambitious: to still be able to do things at 80 that many people cannot do at 20.
Where I come from
In my hometown of Hollfeld, I played basketball on the youth teams and later on the farm team of the professional club in Bamberg. I loved the sport from day one. I played until my early twenties, when injuries became more and more frequent.
After studying renewable energy engineering, I moved to Munich for work. There I spent most of my time at a desk and moved far less. After a few years, it caught up with me: my posture got worse, and I knew it would not fix itself. Now what?
After years of searching the internet for the right fitness program without success, I was frustrated. The programs were not built for the long term, or they simply pointed to the next one. There was no common thread.
What convinced me
Then I got lucky. Through a podcast, I learned about a program with a clear goal: to become as physically capable as an 80-year-old world champion in weightlifting who could still lift his own body weight. That takes excellent flexibility, a high level of strength and speed, and good posture. A body that can do all that is a happy body at any age. Fittingly, the program is called The Happy Body. With that, I had my answer to the question of how to stay fit for life.
In Krakow, I met Aniela and Jerzy Gregorek, the two founders, in person. Before I knew better, I assumed that weightlifting wears the body down over the years. I could not have been more wrong, and the two of them are living proof: lean, fit, and smooth in their movements. To me, they looked more like dancers than weightlifters.
What it takes
Their secret is simple, but not that easy to put into practice at first: taking the whole body through its full range of motion every day. As an engineer, I appreciate how clear and logical the program is. Getting a little better every day has a huge effect in the long run. That is exactly how athletes train. They do not just go through their exercises. They work on getting better over time. You do not have to be a competitive athlete for that. We train by the same principle.
When you work toward ambitious goals, you need rest and enough recovery. In the beginning, I did not want to take those breaks. They felt unproductive. I wanted to progress faster than my body allowed. Over time, I learned to keep working calmly.
Not every day has to be perfect when it comes to training, nutrition, and recovery. As long as I stick to the plan and the system is in place, I will get there. If a day does not go well, I simply carry on the next day without beating myself up. Learning that took some time.
What has changed
I used to be unable to reach my ankles with my fingertips while standing. Today I put my palms flat on the floor. My shoulders used to round forward. Today I stand upright. I still do not meet all of the program’s standards. That only deepens my respect for anyone who still does it at an advanced age.
I no longer have to think every day about how to stay fit. The method carries me, and I go through my routine every day with joy. As a passionate dancer, I often think: no matter how many weddings, parties, or festivals I still dance at, every single one will be a real pleasure.
How I work
I have always enjoyed passing on knowledge and experience. That is why, a few years ago, I got certified by Jerzy Gregorek as a mentor for The Happy Body. I also trained as a systemic coach and consultant at the Coach Akademie Schweiz.
Change is a hard choice, and it happens in the middle of your everyday life. Every day, one voice says, “Not today.” Another reminds you of your goal. Which one wins decides your progress. Recognizing these voices and strengthening the right one is an essential part of mentoring.
My job is to support you until you have the method in your own hands and become your own coach. That means you keep making progress and reach your own goals without depending on anyone’s help.
18 exercises, every day, in five levels of difficulty.
We start where you are right now.
The routine ends with recovery and calm music,
so your nervous system can switch into rest mode.
You learn to eat mindfully without giving up your favorite foods.
Everything we work on is measurable
Stiffness and tension come from too little movement or too much strain, not from your age. The daily routine brings your flexibility back.
You build strength by slowly and steadily increasing the weight you lift in training. We start where you are right now, often with no weights at all at the beginning.
Athletes need speed to perform better in their sport. For older people it is essential to stay quick and avoid falls. This ability depends on fast reactions of the brain, the nervous system and the muscles.
The optimal ratio of fat to muscle. Athletes and dancers get lean to perform better: strong, fast and agile. That is our goal, not the biggest possible muscles.
Your height and body fat percentage determine the ideal weight you aim for.
Good posture takes strain off your neck and back, and you come across as more present. The routine strengthens the muscles that keep you upright, even after a long day at the desk.
We get to know each other, go through your most important questions and see whether it is a good fit for both of us.
We measure where you stand and set your plan from there.
You learn the 18 exercises and their levels of difficulty in detail, how to handle obstacles in everyday life, and the core ideas of the program that make life easier in the long run.
Step by step the program becomes yours. I stay with you as long as you need me. The goal is that you are independent and have all the tools to keep yourself fit for years to come.

Aniela and Jerzy Gregorek won world championships and set world records in weightlifting. For 40 years, they have been coaching people from all walks of life. Today their program is practiced by hundreds of thousands around the world.
From all those years of coaching, one insight stayed with them: real improvement comes when you learn to lead yourself. That means making hard choices. For some, it is eating the right food, for others, taking a break to recover, and for still others, training at all. Changing these habits usually takes time. Jerzy puts it this way:
“Easy choices, hard life. Hard choices, easy life.”
The Happy Body teaches you more than exercises. It teaches you the skill behind them: choosing what pays off later, even when the easy option feels better right now.
Jerzy has been my coach for three years. Much of what he has taught me I pass on today as a certified mentor.
Questions about
A training program you can picture as a mix of weightlifting, yoga and Pilates. The goal is to keep the body young: with a daily routine of about 30 minutes, a short relaxation and the right nutrition.
The exercises come from Jerzy Gregorek, world champion in weightlifting. He translated the complex movements of weightlifting into 18 simple exercises. With them you build up your body safely and sustainably. We almost always start with light weights.
The opposite is true. If you start something new every few years, you never get really good at anything. If you stick with the same exercises, every day builds on the one before, like compound interest. After five years the improvements are enormous, after ten or twenty they are incredible.
And it is about more than maintaining your body. You improve it a little every day, like an athlete, over many years. The hardest exercise is the squat press: go down into a deep squat, press the weight overhead and stand up tall. The other 17 exercises get you there step by step.
In coaching I teach you the exercises, and we measure where you stand.
Mentoring is the longer part. Once you know the method, I stay at your side: we adjust the plan, get through the hard days together, and I build you up when motivation is missing.
Yes. The Happy Body adapts to your level, no matter at what age you start and where you are right now. Even if you have never held a weight before, you can get started just fine.
No, you can train from home. All you need is a pair of adjustable dumbbells and a mat or something comfortable to lie on.
We aim for about 1 % of your ideal weight per week.
What matters is that the progress lasts. If you lose weight too fast, you often lose muscle along with fat, and the new weight rarely holds. At a calm pace you get leaner for good and learn to keep your weight.
Some changes you notice in the first week. Bigger, long-term changes take more time. The Happy Body is meant to improve your health for life, not a short program for a few weeks.
After an injury or surgery, please check with your doctor or physiotherapist whether you are allowed to train. In the intro call we then talk about everything that limits you: what happened, what still feels restricted and what we need to watch. Then I adjust the exercises, and we start at a level where you feel safe and can get going.
Questions about
Every day, about 30 minutes. On full days, or when you have already done sports, 15 minutes are enough.
It varies. It usually takes at least five sessions until all 18 exercises are clean. After that you know the core ideas of the program and can measure and adjust the plan yourself.
Then you have a choice: finish the exercises, or stop consistently after 30 minutes. Over time you will finish within the 30 minutes.
After a long day at the desk it is usually the head that is tired, not the body. Moving often does you a lot of good then, and most people have noticeably more energy afterwards.
Of course. The Happy Body is there precisely so that you can do what you really want every day.
Questions about
In Munich, at my premises or at a location we agree on. Online works just the same, via Google Meet. So you can join from anywhere.
We start with a short check-in: How did the routine go? What did you notice? What is still open from last time?
Then we go into the core ideas of the program and work through the exercises in detail. Everything you bring has its place: questions about training, relaxation and nutrition as well as ideal weight, body fat or posture.
90 minutes is the standard, and that is what I recommend. It leaves enough time to train and for your questions. If you already know the routine or generally have less time, we can adjust the length of the sessions individually.
Questions about
Book the free call. I tell you more about me and the program. You tell me where you stand and what you want to change. Whether you want to work with me is something you can decide calmly afterwards.
The intro call is free. A regular session lasts 90 minutes and costs 150 €. A shorter session of 60 minutes costs 100 €.
If you book five sessions at once, there is a training package at a slightly lower price. If you know the routine and train on your own, there is also ongoing support. Then we check in once a month. We discuss both in the intro call.
By invoice. You do not have to pay anything when booking.
Up to 24 hours before the start you can reschedule or cancel free of charge. You find the links in your confirmation email.
If you cancel later, I charge half the session fee. If you do not show up without notice, I have to charge the full session. In emergencies that is of course fine.
If your question is not answered here, just ask me by email or on WhatsApp, or we clarify it in a free 30-minute call.
Ask all your questions and get a feel for how I work. At the end of the call, you do not have to decide yet whether you want to start coaching with me.
